The New York State Public Health Association (NYSPHA) invites you to apply for a position on our Board of Directors.
We are seeking two separate positions:
We are seeking a diverse group of candidates who represent the state geographically, work in a variety of public health or related disciplines, are at various points in their careers, and represent the demographics of New York State. Our intent is to include voices from multiple communities, state and local level organizations, and other public health interests. We have the opportunity to shape public health in New York and advocate for improved health and equity for all New Yorkers.
This is an extraordinary time in the field of public health. Board membership affords the ability to expand your network and lend your voice to advocate for public health. The Board of Directors holds monthly virtual meetings and an in-person meeting every year at the New York State Public Health Partnership Conference. The time commitment is approximately 12-16 hours per month - of course you are always welcome to be more active.

Any application missing any of these pieces will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed.
If you do not feel you are in a position to run for our board of directors but want to get involved with NYSPHA, we are also seeking members for all of our committees. We have active committees in Policy and Advocacy, Membership, Communications, Public Health in Action, Event Planning, Fund Development, as well as topical workgroups on Climate, Mental Health, Chronic Disease, and Maternal Child Health.
