Webinar: Juking the Stats in Public Health

Dr. Carole Rudra will define and classify several types of data misrepresentation and falsification (juking the stats). She will provide examples to show why stats juking occurs, its consequences, and how it might be prevented.

Learning Objectives: 

1) Identify several types of data misrepresentation and falsification (juking the stats) relevant to public health research and practice.

2) Identify motivations and incentives for juking the stats.

3) Identify the consequences of juking the stats.

4) Identify strategies to prevent juking the stats.

Speaker Bio: Carole Rudra is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health at University at Buffalo SUNY. She is an epidemiologist with an MPH from Emory University and PhD from University of Washington. Her research and teaching interests include epidemiology, environmental health, academic integrity, and public health ethics.
