Presentation Description:
This presentation intends to discuss the differences between misinformation and disinformation and identify the impact on communities. Time also will be spent presenting community responses and allowing participants to imagine ways to impact their own communities.

Speaker Bio:
Alexis Speck Glennon, LCSW-R is a Doctor of Social Work candidate at the University at Buffalo and Core Faculty and Field Director at Union Institute and University. She is also a Research Fellow in the Robert Wood Johnson Social Work Health Futures Lab. Her research area is digital literacy skills for mental health practitioners and the mental health profession's role in tech justice. Along with her academic appointments, Alexis has a private practice specializing in treating trauma and the clinical assessment and application of digital literacy skills for clients. Alexis enjoys balancing her life with hiking, swimming, kayaking with her family, and diving into a good novel.
